James Koenig is a seasoned educational leader and consultant with over 23 years of experience supporting K–12 schools and districts through leadership, accountability, and systems improvement. Through LeadWell Consulting & Strategic Solutions LLC, he partners with education leaders to navigate complex compliance requirements, strengthen instructional and student-support systems, and build sustainable practices that improve outcomes for students and communities.

James brings deep expertise in secondary curriculum leadership, LCAP development, accountability and compliance, and MTSS/RtI² implementation. He is recognized for his leadership as a Distinguished Administrative Speaker, a Resilient Heart Award recipient for mental resilience and student well-being, and a member of an MTSS/RtI² Exemplary School Cohort, during which time the school was recognized as a PBIS Model School. He has also received honors from the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission and the Palmer Drug and Alcohol Program for his contributions to student support and prevention efforts.
